The role and disease of the Hungarian private security sector in relation to sport security task

Abstract

"Sport is part of the public good," the preamble to the Sports Act states, stating that "in order to achieve the socially useful goals of sport, the state […] ensures public safety at sporting events and contributes to the safe conduct of sporting events".
One of the most obvious areas of interconnection between public and private security is the provision of sporting events and sports facilities. Although Baron Coubertin still hoped that the Olympic Games would bring peace and understanding to humanity, in many cases this could not be achieved. The first Olympics after the September 11, 2001. terrorist attacks were held in 2002 in Salt Lake City. It was the first Olympics, the first major sporting event to have already given high priority to security issues.
