The domotics aspect of stand-alone systems

Abstract

Nowadays, there is an increasing demand for systems that help people to be independent. Such an area is the "detachment" from the energy networks, the so-called island operation. To be able to do this, we need as much locally produced renewable energy as possible. The availability of these energy sources varies over time, so a high degree of automation is necessary to ensure that it is continuously available. In addition to presenting the basics of building automation, this article shows an example of how it is possible to implement all of this with domotics tools. It does this while keeping safety, comfort, environmental protection and economy aspects in mind.
